The decision by Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to hold a bailout referendum means there is no further basis for negotiations with the country, says German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble as dpa reported. 'The negotiations have apparently been declared over by Mr Tsipras, if I have understood him correctly, ... meaning that we have no basis any more for further negotiations,' Schaeuble says ahead of a meeting of eurozone finance ministers in Brussels. 'The negotiations have been abandoned by Greece. And therefore we are in the situation that the [bailout] programme ends on Tuesday,' Schaeuble says.
