Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and Igor Komarov, the head of the Russian Federal Space Agency, co-signed here Thursday a joint memorandum of intentions in space. The joint memorandum of intentions has taken place on the sidelines of the current visit to Russia by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense. In remarks on the occasion, Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed stressed that the memorandum includes cooperation with Russian Federal Space Agency in the field of exploration and use of space for peaceful purposes through a joint team work of the two countries, which will discuss common themes, including the Kingdom's participation in Russian manned and unmanned space flights and exploration vehicles. He explained that this memorandum would take advantage of space technologies and develop common systems between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation, pointing out that the cooperation would be strong specially in business ventures, research, development, production and manufacturing.
