A group of 18 people are facing jail time in Cuba for stealing more than 8 million eggs and selling them on the black market, Cuban state media reported after their trial Friday, dpa reported. According to Granma, the Cuban Communist Party daily, the convicts, who worked for a state firm, sold the eggs on the black market over a period of months in 2012, depriving the state of 336,000 dollars in income. They were convicted of embezzlement, misappropriation and forgery of official documents.
