The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud patronized here today 2nd International Conference on King Abdulaziz History being organized by Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University at its headquarters in Riyadh today. Upon his arrival at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques accompanied by Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, was received by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region; Minister of Education Dr. Azzam bin Mohammed Al-Dakhil; and the University's Acting Director Dr. Fawzan bin Abdulrahman Al-Fawzan. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques watched a replica and a visual presentation of the investment project of the university tower. Then, Secretary General of the conference Dr. Talal bin Khalid Altoraifi gave a speech in which he highlighted the great merits of the kingdom's founder the late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud. He explained that the two-day conference will feature eighteen sessions on illuminating aspects of the life of the founder. Dr. Altoraifi added that the conference gathers nearly a hundred scholars and researchers of different nationalities and countries. It also features other activities documenting the life of the late king. He thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his support for the conference. Then, the speech of the participants at the conference was delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Qadri Putshish, on behalf of them, in which they expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on his patronage of science, its men and contributions to the promotion of intellectual movement; the revival of the ancient Islamic heritage and the resurrection of the glories of history, asserting that the King's patronage of the opening ceremony of the conference is a clear evidence on what he is doing of good service for the people of science, and a token of love for whoever making the book as if his friend the Holy Quran as his companion. They also expressed their thanks to Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, which today stands exalted with its science and proud of its achievements. In their speech, they also appreciated the knowledge accumulation produced by researchers' pens around late King Abdulaziz's history, an accumulation of every researcher in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They hoped success for the conference, praying to Allah Almighty to preserve the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and bless him with constant good health and happiness for interest of the Islamic nation. A poem was recited and was followed by a speech by Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University's acting director and president of the supreme committee of the preparatory and organizing committees of the conference Dr. Fawzan bin Abdulrahman Al-Fawzan. The acting director hailed King Salman's care for the history of the late King Abdulaziz and patronage of the conference. Dr. Fawzan bin Abdulrahman Al-Fawzan highlighted the importance of the conference and the activities related to the theme of the conference which will be spread over a full year. Then the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud inaugurated the University's completed projects including educational buildings in various regions of the Kingdom, as well as service and technological projects amounted to about three billion, two hundred and thirty-five million riyals. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques laid the foundation stone for a number of the university projects electronically, including educational, service and technological projects in various regions of the Kingdom amounting to eight billion five hundred and ninety million riyals. The King opened the exhibition accompanying the conference and inaugurated the Museum of History of Science and Technology in Islam, which was established by the University in collaboration with the Institute for History of Arab and Islamic Sciences at the University of Frankfurt in Germany. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques honored princes, ministers and businessmen financing research chairs at the university. The ceremony was attended by a number of princes, ministers and senior officials.
