Ayoon Wa Azan (A Fifth Column…That Is Taking America's Youths to their Deaths)
Published in AL HAYAT on 24 - 06 - 2010

The Armenian lobby in the United States is important, powerful and exerts large influence. It is strongest in the state of California, but also has presence in every state. For decades (I have been acquainted with this lobby since the 1980s), this lobby has attempted to push the U.S Congress to pass a resolution that equates the murder of Armenians at the hands of the Turks in 1915 to a genocide. However, the Armenian lobby failed time after time because, despite its strength, it is no match for the strength of the Israeli lobby which had always sided with Turkey.
However, an Islamist party has come to power in Turkey – a party that defends the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and that is building bridges with the countries of the region, rather than having merely one bridge with the West, which kept being closed down in Turkey's face. Subsequently, the Foreign Affairs Committee in the U.S House of Representatives passed a resolution labeling what happened to the Armenians as genocide.
Then came the Peace Flotilla, and widened the rift between the Israel lobby in the Unites States and Turkey. Although the official lobby AIPAC and the (Jewish) Anti-Defamation League had hitherto been perpetual allies for Turkey, they now became the latter's declared adversaries.
The above confirms what I and the Arab reader both know very well. The advocates of Israel, in particular the neo-conservatives, are not Americans. They are an Israeli fifth column that is bent on destroying America's reputation and interests around the world, and that is taking America's youths to their deaths in distant lands, in the service of a neo-colonial Israeli strategy.
The biggest lie in history is Israel. It never actually existed as the biblical myths claim, and what we have before us today is a fascist state that occupies the lands of the Palestinians, and murders and destroys. Meanwhile, the biggest political lie in present time is that the interests of the United States and Israel are identical, not just similar, or in other words, that Israel is the U.S's first ally in the Middle East, and that it is the only democracy in the region.
Israel is not an ally but an enemy of all American interests. Its advocates are covering for the fascists in Israel and are creating animosity with 1.2 billion Arabs and Muslims, for the sake of six million thieves. Moreover, Israel cannot claim to be a democracy when its government wants it to be exclusively for one religious denomination, which denies all other religious or ethnic groups their rights, and also when [Israeli] ministers call for the transfer of the rightful owners of the land.
Currently, we have the Turkish example, wherein the advocates of Israel in the United States rushed to attack Turkey immediately after its dispute with Israel, to the extent at which they suddenly remembered the Armenian genocide, and to the extent of starting to demand that Turkey be expelled from NATO.
Turkey is a massive country that is also known as Asia Minor. It is NATO's flank and its southern shield. Since the Soviet Union collapsed and there no longer is any danger facing the West from Europe's north or east, the remaining threat comes from the south and the south-east, where Turkey is the front line of defense for the alliance.
And yet, the Likudnik supporters of Israel are calling for the expulsion of Turkey from NATO, not because they care about the security of Europe or the United States, but because they serve the interests and terrorism of Israel alone.
The Jewish Institute for (Israeli, not American) National Security Affairs (JINSA) claimed that Turkey has sensitive information on terrorism and Iran, and that Turkey's friends are: Iran, Syria, Hamas and Brazil, which poses the risk of divulging Western military technology secrets.
This is arrogance incarnate because Israel itself has sold U.S military technology to China and other nations as confirmed and documented, and yet, Turkey is accused of something that it may perpetrate in the future.
Daniel Pipes, who now heads a Likudnik think tank, reiterated the call to expel Turkey from NATO. Also, the National Review, the mouthpiece of the neo-conservatives, publishes almost every day one or more articles attacking Turkey. For instance, Elliott Abrams, one of the most despicable neo-conservatives around, recently wrote an article attacking Obama, along with Turkey, because he does not support Israel.
I can provide a complete list with the names of the most infamous members of the neo-conservative gang, and what they wrote in recent weeks against Turkey, or against President Obama who prevented the condemnation of Israel in the Security Council but was rewarded with a campaign against him, as though the gang wants him to condemn the martyrs of the Peace Flotilla. Perhaps I can add to them Ms. Liz Cheney, who, along with William Kristol, the editor of the National Review, founded a new organization called Keep America Safe (by attacking Iran, which is what her father Dick Cheney called for as well).
These Israeli extremists are the ones who called for a war on Iraq, and continued to do so until it led to the death of one million Iraqis. Today, they are also against Turkey and are always against Arabs and Muslims, and in favor of every war that kills the latter in the service of the only remaining neo-Nazi country in the world today.
