On the 13th of this month, near the end of a press conference, President Barack Obama said that resolving the conflict in the Middle East is a vital national interest of the United States. In truth, the U.S Army General David Petraeus, commander of the U.S Central Command, went ahead of his boss when he said in a testimony before the Armed Services Committee in the U.S Senate earlier, that the lack of progress in the Middle East created a hostile environment for the United States in the region. In fact, Petraeus was a rising star for many in the American right-wing, especially among the extremist Likudniks and the main pillars of the Israel lobby that incited the war against Iraq. This is because he successfully managed the surge of U.S troops in Iraq, which led to reduced violence (the terrorists moved to Afghanistan where they doubled their activities against U.S and coalition troops there; however, this is a titbit of information that was kept secret because it did not suit the evil cabal), and the name of the ‘victorious' general was even suggested as a candidate for the presidency. Then he gave his testimony and struck a sharp blow against the Israel gang which then turned against him. However, Petraeus is ultimately a military commander, and his statements are less important than those made by President Obama, which the advocates of Israel interpreted as being the early signs of a campaign to impose a solution on Israel, especially with the news that the U.S President will announce an initiative for peace in the Middle East in the coming weeks or months. The result was a massive, ongoing campaign in the media against Obama and his administration, in conjunction with an equally fierce campaign of incitement against Arab countries and Iran, and even Venezuela. So the danger then is not Israel, the fascistic state that murders women and children, but instead, the danger is an unsubstantiated Iranian nuclear program, or the macho statements of President Hugo Chavez. I want to place on the record my objection to all Arab countries because they do not monitor the issues that are at the heart of their interests, and cannot determine the reaction to them, although they are directly concerned with these issues, and not the Palestinian side alone. At any rate, sticking to the subject and overlooking the Israel lobby, the Likudnik websites and the Jewish publications such as Commentary, I select an example that represents all the above, who is Jackson Diehl, the Deputy Editorial Page Editor at the Washington Post. While the latter is a major, influential, widespread newspaper, it is liberal in everything except when it comes to Israel, to the extent that its op-ed page has become the equivalent of op-ed page in the Wall Street Journal, with contributors such as Diehl and Charles Krauthammer: they are both extremist Zionists who supported the war on Iraq, and then the war on Lebanon in 2006 and the war on Gaza after that, which practically means that their hands are stained with the blood of women and children. (Nonetheless, I will neglect Krauthammer today, who is a disgrace to the newspaper that hosts him). Diehl wrote an article entitled ‘A Mideast opportunity Obama shouldn't ignore', of which I will quote the second paragraph verbatim: “The United States faces three big strategic challenges in the Middle East. One is the threat of Iran. The second is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. And the third is the corrupt and crumbling Arab autocracies of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and half a dozen other states, which fuel Islamic extremism and provide almost all of al-Qaeda's recruits.” I want to say that had it not been for Israeli terrorism, for the theft of Palestine from its original inhabitants and their forceful displacement and murder up until today, and for the total American commitment to the terrorist thieving state, there would not have been any Islamic extremists, and the terrorist organization al-Qaeda or the national liberation movements Hamas and Hezbollah would not have even existed. Israel is the source of all evil, and the cancer which has infected the body of the Middle East. Israel is the one that possesses a nuclear arsenal that threatens both nearby and faraway nations, and it is the main justification for terrorists such as Mohammed Atta and Ayman al-Zawahri which the article mentions. Diehl frequently calls for democracy in the Arab world, and perhaps he believes that democracy would create regimes that accept Israel; however, this is wishful thinking by an extremist Zionist. If we take Egypt as an example, the alternative to Hosni Mubarak is not Mohamed ElBaradei, a friend that I respect and support, but the Muslim Brotherhood Organization which will reject any peace with Israel. As for Saudi Arabia, the alternative will be much more fanatical than the one in Egypt. At any rate, the writer knows Israel where he worked, but does not know our countries. All Arab countries are undemocratic, and there is no rule of law, human rights or transparency in any of them, which is my documented opinion that I expressed a thousand times. However, these countries are not crumbling as Diehl claims, and I can say with full objectivity – and I am willing to defend my opinion in courts – that King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has been a big reformer in all his political moves since 2005. Also, the regime in Egypt is very stable, and behind the President, the democratic and Islamist opposition, there is the institution of the army, which is the protector of the country with everyone and before and after them. I compare the work of President Mubarak since 1981 and the work of King Abdullah since 2005 with that of the Israeli prime ministers during both their terms, and in conclusion, the two [Arab] leaders did not wage wars or murder women and children, nor did they invade nearby countries and threaten faraway countries like the leaders of Israel did, and still are doing, thanks to a gang that sold its ‘country' America. I also accuse the Washington Post of betraying its liberal cause by lending its pages to the likes of Diehl, Krauthammer and all the other enemies of peace. [email protected]
