Ayoon Wa Azan (The Goldstone Report Has Not Been Shelved)
Published in AL HAYAT on 09 - 02 - 2010

The Community Security Trust, a British Jewish group, announced two days ago that 2009 was the worst year on record in terms of incidents of anti-Semitism, since the inception of the trust in 1984 and since it began recording such incidents. Prime Minister Gordon Brown rushed to condemn these anti-Semitic incidents, and called for greater vigilance in order to confront them.
The British group said something that we all know, and recorded 924 incidents against the Jewish community last year. It attributed this to the anger that erupted following the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, as most of these incidents occurred during that conflict, many of which were referenced to Israel and Gaza.
The new figure is more than 50 percent higher than the previous record, set in 2006, which was then attributed to the Israeli war on Lebanon.
But what the Jewish group failed to mention is that it is Israel that has become the primary and most important cause for anti-Semitism in the world. For instance, Israel committed war crimes in the Gaza strip that amount to Nazi crimes, with the result being that 13 soldiers were killed during that war including 4 by ‘friendly' – i.e. Israeli – fire, compared to 1400 Palestinians, including 400 women and children. The ratio of Israelis killed to the Palestinians killed is hence one to one hundred, which is a quintessentially Nazi proportion. When the Nazis lost a soldier, they used to kill as many Jews as they could find in this kind of proportion.
The result was also that Judge Richard Goldstone requested in his famous report that investigations be conducted into the possibility that Israel committed war crimes in Gaza. While he also requested for an investigation into Hamas's actions, the tone he took in talking about Hamas was much lighter.
While the Israeli government resisted an independent judicial inquiry into the accusations made against it, the Israeli Public Prosecutor and other Israeli judges said that avoiding an independent investigation is a mistake. Subsequently, Israel sent the United Nations secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, a 40-page report about the progress of the war, which included military investigations only, or in other words, the suspect accused of the crime interrogated himself.
But this issue has not yet been settled, even after Ban Ki-moon chose not to call the General Assembly to convene on the fifth of this month to inform the latter of the progress of the Israeli and Palestinian inquiries into the war. While the Israeli government is hoping to bury this issue, this seems impossible, and the investigation is recommending that Israel be referred to the International Criminal Court if no independent civilian inquiry is made into the Gaza war.
In the meantime, the Israeli threats to Syria overshadowed the controversy surrounding the Goldstone report, but only for the time being. The timeline of these threats deserves to be narrated chronologically in order to render it easier to understand.
In an interview with the New Yorker magazine, President Bashar al-Assad said that the Israeli leaders are like children fighting each other; two days later, the Israelis proved him right.
The brothel bouncer Avigdor Lieberman who became the Foreign Minister heard that there are contacts under way with Syria, as Benjamin Netanyahu asked Italy and Spain to inform the Syrian president that he was ready to negotiate with Syria in ‘good faith', and that his condition for this is that there should be no preconditions. At the same time, Defence Minister Ehud Barak stated that if no negotiations with Syria take place soon, a full scale war will be inevitable. Since Lieberman does not want peace with Syria, he made his violent statement to circumvent Netanyahu and Barak, and proved that Dr. Bashar al-Assad's opinion about the Israeli cabinet members was right.
In truth, peace with the Netanyahu government is impossible, and Lieberman acted in the only manner that he knows, namely, violence, especially with his background is dealing with drunks like him in the brothels of Moldova.
He will soon wake up to the fact that the Goldstone report has not been shelves, and that Israel is still in the dock. It is for this reason that anti-Semitic incidents are reaching record high numbers in Europe, after the Europeans found out that the country that was established to protect Jews from the persecution that culminated with the Nazi Holocaust, is now itself doing to the Palestinians what the Nazis did to the Jews.
Who supports Israel today? The United States because Congress is under the control of the lobby, and the Capitol building is Israeli-occupied territory, as leading American intellectuals themselves say and not I alone. Israel is also supported by two island nations which are Micronesia and Nauru. I will talk about the permanent majority that exists at the United Nations, i.e. the entire world's forum, against Israel; I will just compare Micronesia and Nauru to Turkey and Sweden, which both angered Israel by showing television films about the latter's crimes against the Palestinians, and add Britain where Israeli leaders are wanted for war crimes.
The lies of Israel since its establishment in Palestinian land sixty years ago are no longer believed by anyone, save for Micronesia and Nauru, but I don't understand what business do the latter have, and the people of these islands are too far from knowing the truth.
