The visiting Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi, met here today with the Premier of South Australia State Government Jay Weatherill. The meeting dealt with discussions on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, mining, environmental issues and the exchanges of experiences. The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand Hassan Bin Talat Nazer, Advisor to the Minister of Petroleum Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Muhanna, Director of the Minister's Special Office Ali Al-Tuwairqi, and a number of Australian officials. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the meeting, Al-Naimi said that South Australia State is one of the most important states in Australia in terms of oil and gas and it has great potentials in this field, so there is room for cooperation between the two countries in this aspect, as well as the exchanges of research, studies, experiences, and environmental issues related to oil and gas industry.
