Spanish police dispersed about 200 demonstrators from Madrid's central square Sunday following a rally marking the first anniversary of a protest movement that opposes "economic violence" and demands a fairer society. Some protesters defied police orders to leave the square, and were dispersed at about 5 am (3 am GMT). Four people including two police officers were injured, and seventeen people were detained, local media reported. About 30,000 people demonstrated Saturday at the Puerta del Sol where the movement known as the Indignant Ones was launched on May 15, 2011. Police dispersed also demonstrators in Valencia and Palma de Majorca, according to television reports quoted by DPA.
