Natural disasters, mainly hailstorms and rain-triggered landslides, left 69 people dead and four missing across China in April, according to official figures publicized on Tuesday. A total of 28.9 million people nationwide were affected by natural disasters last month, which caused a direct economic loss of 15.37 billion yuan (2.45 billion U.S. dollars), Xinhua quoted an evaluation report issued by the Ministry of Civil Affairs as saying. It said the natural disasters also damaged around 110,000 homes and forced the emergency relocation of 224,000 people, and damaged 250,000 hectares of farmland.
