The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Water and Electricity for Planning and Development Eng. Mohammed bin Ahmed Baghdadi has stressed that the quality of public network water for drinking is not less than bottled water and in many cases superior to it, but within conditions. He said in a press statement, "Many people do not get drinking water at homes directly from the network, but only after its passage through the homes' ground and upper tanks, and here lies the problem of contamination due to not taking care of tanks and sterilizing them periodically". He noted that the most appropriate procedure to get good and sterilized water for drinking is to get it directly from the network before its passage through the homes' ground tanks.
