Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mansour Ayyad Al-Otaibi asserted today desire by Kuwait and Iraq that the United Nations carry out its legal responsibility in implementing the project of the maintenance of the border demarcation between the two countries in accordance with Security Council Resolution 833 on border demarcation between the two countries. In a statement, Ambassador Al-Otaibi said that implementing resolution 833 could create an atmosphere conducive to building trust and boosting bilateral relations to benefit both parties. The Kuwait representative's remarks follows a joint request to the UN, Tuesday, by him and his Iraqi counterpart Hamid Al-Bayyati in a letter addressed to UN Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs, Lynn Pascoe requesting a tripartite meeting this week to consider measures to start maintenance of the border demarcation between the two countries.
