At least 12 soldiers were killed in clashes with opposition fighters in Syria's eastern Deir al-Zour province on Tuesday, dpa quoted the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights as saying. "The clashes, during which heavy machinegun fire was used, took place in the Bousayra area," the London-based group said.
