Yemeni parliamentarians, government officials and tribal leaders have denounced the abduction of Saudi Deputy Consul in Yemen Abdullah Al-Khaldi by deviant elements, describing the crime as contradictory to religious principles and social values and defames the fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Yemen. In remarks to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) today, they demanded the prompt release of the captive and called for bringing of the culprits to face the most tough punishment. They expressed absolute rejection of such criminal acts as a practice contrary to Yemeni day-to-day politics or means of respecting Yemen's official guests. This behavior doesn't belong to any religion we know, they said. The crime was also described by the interviewed as double crime because it also violates the Yemeni government and lawful institutions. They also expressed support for the rejection of the Saudi authorities to enter into negotiations with the kidnappers, describing it as a strong position in the face of terrorism. This episode once again highlights the need to collective fight against terror, they said, adding that Saudi Arabia and Yemen will stand together in the face of such behaviors that harm the profile of Islam outside. They were Yahya Ali Al-Raee, Speaker of the House of Representatives; Judge Murshed Al-Arshani, Minister of Justice in the National Reconciliation Government; Sultan Al-Atwani, Secretary General of the Nasirist Popular Unionist Party and leader of the party's bloc in the parliament, Zaid Al-Shami, Deputy Head of the Yemeni Reconciliation Assembly in the parliament; Sheikh Jaabal Tiaaman, tribal leader of the tribes of Maareb Province and member of the parliament and Sheikh Naji Ahmed Ateeq, leader of Radea tribe of Al-Baidha Province and parliament member.
