Russia should maintain pressure on the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to respect a United Nations ceasefire plan, dpa cited British Foreign Secretary William Hague as saying Thursday. "We look to Russia to continue pressure on the regime to comply with that ceasefire," Hague said ahead of a meeting between NATO foreign ministers and their Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Brussels. "If the ceasefire does not work and the Annan plan is not followed in Syria, as things stand it will be very clear who is responsible for that," Hague said.
