Egypt's election officials on Tuesday rejected an appeal by three main presidential hopefuls - two Islamists and a former intelligence officer - who were disqualified last week from the race, dpa cited state television as saying. Former intelligence chief and vice president Omar Suleiman, the Muslim Brotherhood's former deputy Khairat al-Shater and Salafist Hazem Abu Ismail were among 10 candidates who were disqualified by the elections commission. The rejection came after the elections commission, comprised of five judges, met all day to go through the appeals, state television reported.
