Five people have died and three more were reported missing after torrential rains caused extensive flooding in the South Pacific island state of Fiji, according to reports from the capital Suva on Monday. The government has declared a state of natural disaster and the Meteorological Service warned that Tropical Cyclone Daphne moving past the Fiji could bring more heavy rain and strong winds. About 8,000 people are staying in 91 evacuation centers set up for people who had to leave their homes because of flooding, the Fiji live news website reported.
