Water and Electricity Minister Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hossein has signed contracts worth more than SR544 million to implement water and sewage projects in various regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The projects were awarded to a number of Saudi companies and contracting firms. These projects aim to improve the utility services to the people across the Kingdom, fulfilling the anticipated increase in requirements needed to keep up with the rapid growth in population. The first contract is for establishing a water purification plant at the dam in Damad valley in Jazan Province. The duration of the contract, which will cost SR82.81 million, is 36 months. The second contract, worth SR67 million, is for implementing the first phase of sewage networks in Qalwa city in Al-Baha Region. The project would be completed within 36 months. --MORE
