Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretariat General and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) signed here today a cooperation agreement to conduct studies and programs on the sand storms in the Gulf region in the field of monitoring the region's environment, climate change and its effects as well as program of risk and disaster reduction. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 1st ministerial meeting for developing the meteorological and climate services in Arab countries held in Jeddah under the patronage of Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, General President of Meteorology and Environment Protection. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid AL-Zayani, GCC Secretary General, and Michel Jarraud, WMO Secretary General, signed on the agreement.
