Five immigrants from North Africa were found dead on a boat south of the Italian island of Lampedusa, port authorities said on Saturday. According to dpa, coast guards were dispatched on a rescue mission after receiving an emergency call from the boat, which was carrying dozens of illegal immigrants. Some 52 immigrants, including five women, were found in poor health. A boat carrying 54 people, including four children, arrived in Lampedusa on Friday. The immigrants said they had come from Libya.
