The continuation of the Civil Defense Council in supervising all works of civil defense activities, including disaster management and response. Second - The Civil Defense Council shall be chaired by the Minister of the Interior and its membership shall include high level representatives of concerned government agencies. Third - Subject to the requirements of regulations, the cabinet's decision authorizes the Council of Civil Defense to execute many tasks, including the following: 1 - Assigning the tasks and responsibilities of government agencies and other entities, concerning the implementation of the works of civil defense. 2 - Issuance of regulations (in coordination with the concerned authorities) that define safety requirements and rules that must be met in various activities to ensure the protection of lives and public and private property. 3 - Issuance of regulations that determine the conditions for the establishment of public and private shelters and their specifications, in collaboration with the concerned authorities. 4 - Adoption of mechanisms for international cooperation in the field of civil defense and disaster response. 5 - Adoption of the general policies for training on the works of civil defense and implementation of its plans and projects as well as its necessary programs. Fourth - Repealing of the Preparatory Committee of the Council of Civil Defense and the establishment of a committee called the Public Committee for the Works of Civil Defense led by Assistant Interior Minister for Security Affairs and membership of representatives of concerned government agencies. The decision set a number of tasks for the committee. Fifth - Reconstruction of the Secretariat of the Council of Civil Defense as described in the resolution.
