Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, the Minister of Culture and Information, patronized the 6th annual ceremony for the Saudi Publishers Association 2012. Prince Turki Al-Faisal, the honorary President of the association, attended the event. A speech party was held to mark the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Khoja said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has now turned to be a cultural panorama, citing the cultural values, developmental infrastructure and plans portrayed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He defended the role of the written-paper books together with the electronic books in crystallizing the life of people. For his part, Prince Turki Al-Faisal said in a statement that the Saudi Publishers Association plays an important role in spreading the Saudi book and culture. Citing the convening of Riyadh International Book Fair and Janadriyah festival recently, he said Saudi Arabia ranks first in culture and civilization.
