Faisal went on to say: "It is supposed that this desired union may adopt, in its structure and performance, visions and recommendations stemming from full-time bodies with authorities that cover key areas of joint work ( political, security, military and economic ones). "Of course, all the efficient and effective bodies of the Union will be formed of representatives of the GCC Member States, and will work according to a working mechanism and scheduled programs, which should contribute to accelerating the pace of performance, enabling us to overcome the obstacles facing joint action," he explained. Prince Al-Faisal also asserted that the Union would not affect at all the sovereignty of any of the Member States nor interfere in their internal affairs, and this federal project is nothing other than just a means by which the GCC Member States will have the possibility of working through active and full-time organizations and institutions which would have the flexibility, speed and ability to achieve the drawn policies and programs. He said: "The agenda of the meeting includes many issues and questions relating to the march of cooperation and coordination among us. Some of these issues relate to the kind of challenges and developments facing us; and in this context I have to commend the efforts made by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates and former President of GCC Foreign Ministers' Ministerial Council for his outstanding efforts,". I would also like to extend thanks to the GCC Secretary General, Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani and his associates in the General Secretariat for their efforts in the setup and preparation for today's meeting, Prince Saud Al-Faisal concluded. Then, a closed session was held.
