Six cities from Europe and Latin America are bidding to host the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. The International Olympic Committee says it received applications from Buenos Aires, Argentina; Glasgow, Scotland; Guadalajara, Mexico; Medellin, Colombia; Poznan, Poland; and Rotterdam, Netherlands. IOC President Jacques Rogge says "we are delighted with the high level of interest shown" in hosting the third edition of the event. The inaugural Youth Olympics were held in Singapore in 2010, while the 2014 edition will take place in Nanjing, China. The Youth Games feature about 3,800 athletes aged from 15 to 18. The IOC executive board will select a shortlist of candidates in February 2013. The 2018 host city will be chosen in July 2013, AP reported.
