Norway today transferred NOK 240 Million (1 Norwegian krone = 0.180385 U.S. dollars) to the Palestinian Authority (PA). Norway is one of the first donor countries to transfer its contribution for 2012, according to a press release issued by the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The press release said Norway's Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store, who met the Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad this morning in Ramallah made this announcement. "I urge other donors to transfer their budget support contributions for 2012 as soon as possible," said Store. He added that Israel has a particular responsibility for removing restrictions that are preventing the development of the Palestinian private sector and sustainable growth in the Palestinian economy.
