A British photographer was smuggled from the besieged city of Homs to safety outside Syria, but the fate of a French journalist is unclear, diplomats said. The news about the journalists came as reports Tuesday indicated Homs had come under heavy bombardment, with Syrian government forces deploying elite armored units into rebel-held areas, the BBC reported.
