K. Rahman Khan, deputy chairman of Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Indian Parliament has said India maintains excellent relations with all countries in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, a country that has been playing an increasingly important role in world economy due to its status in the global energy market, the sheer size of its economy and stability. Rahman Khan, who was in Riyadh to attend the G20 speakers' conference, thanked the Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura Sheikh Dr Abdullah bin Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh for hosting the conference and for the hospitality extended to the Indian delegation. In a wide-ranging interview with Arab News, Khan gave an overview of the growing Saudi-India relations. Khan met Sheikh Dr Abdullah, on the sidelines of the conference, which ended its three-day deliberations last Sunday. During his stay in Riyadh, he also met with Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies. --MORE
