Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff held talks Monday with visiting Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan, whose country is Brazil's most important trading partner. Wang was scheduled to attend a meeting of a high-level bilateral commission that addresses political, economic, trade, financial, and industrial issues between the two countries. In 2009, China became Brazil's largest trading partner, overtaking the United States. Bilateral trade last year reached $77 billion, with Brazil enjoying a trade surplus of $11.5 billion. China also is the biggest investor in the South American country. Rousseff traveled to China last March, when both countries signed several bilateral trade agreements.
