Based on official information from the General Directorate of Investigation of the Ministry of Interior, the number of prisoners at prisons affiliated to the General Directorate of Investigation reached 4662 until 25 December 2011 from 51 nationalities, 80% of them were Saudis. In a statement, the Human Rights Commission (HRC) Council said today, the situations of prisoners vary from being settled or convicted, to those under conviction or transferred to courts, or investigated and prosecuted or under investigation. "As many as 120 detainees are benefiting from Prince Mohammed bin Naif Center for Counseling and Rehabilitation in preparation of their release," the statement added.
