Divers early Thursday resumed searching the Costa Concordia shipwreck off the Italian coast. To date 16 people have been confirmed dead and around 20 remain unaccounted for, dpa reported. Overnight rescue operations had concentrated on parts of the half-sunken cruise ship that still lie above water, officials said. On Wednesday the German government said three bodies recovered from the vessel since it ran aground off Italy's western coast on January 13, had been identified as German citizens. The removal of thousands of tons of potentially hazardous fuel from the Concordia's tanks is expected to begin Saturday. More than 4,000 passengers and crew were aboard the ship at the time of the accident.
