On conclusion of a visit paid to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by Chairman of State Council of People's Republic of China and Premier Wen Jiabao, the following joint statement was issued today: "At the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Premier; the Chairman of State Council of People's Republic of China and Premier Wen Jiabao paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on January 14-16, 2012. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior held meetings with Jiabao in a friendly and cordial atmospheres during which they reviewed bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern. The two sides expressed their satisfaction over major developments witnessed in relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in all fields since the establishment of diplomatic relations between them, stressing their readiness to improve these relations in the framework of strategic relations to serve the joint interests of the two countries and their peoples in all fields and to strengthen peace, stability and development at regional and global arenas. In the context of the desire to expand the ties of close friendship between the two peoples, to enhance Saudi-Chinese relations, and to promote cooperation between the two countries in all fields, it was agreed between the two sides to emphasize the following: 1- The intensification of the exchanges of high-level visits and consultations at all levels to exchange views on various fields and international and regional issues of common concern to achieve the joint interests of the two countries and their peoples. 2- The significance of enhancement of economic, trade and investment exchanges effectively and the increase of cooperation in the fields of energy and infrastructures to achieve the comprehensive development of relations of cooperation existing between the two countries. --More
