In the presence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Saudi Arabia and China today signed a number of agreements and cooperation programs between the two countries. A cooperation program between the Diplomatic Studies Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Chinese Foreign University was signed by Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister, and his Chinese counterpart Yang Jitche. A memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Arabian Basic Industries (SABIC) and the Chinese Sinopec Corporation was signed to build a plant to produce poly carbonate in the Chinese city of Tianjin. It was signed by Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thinayan, President of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, who is also President of SABIC, and Futching Yu, the President of the Board of Directors of Sinopec. On the other hand, Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, the Minister of Social Affairs and Acting Minister of Culture and Information, and Yang Jitche, China's Foreign Minister, signed the executive program for the Cultural Arrangement between the governments of China and Saudi Arabia for the years from 2012 to 2017. An agreement between the two governments on the peaceful usage of nuclear energy was also signed. Signatories for the two parties were Dr. Hashem Yamani, President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, and Chang Peng, President of the National Commission for Development and Reforms of China. A working program between King Abdulaziz Public Library and the University of Beijing was signed by Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muammar, the library's General Supervisor, and Li Yanson, President of the Chinese university . The audience was attended by Crown Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior; Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense; Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Chief of General Intelligence; Prince Meteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Member of State, Member of Cabinet and Commander of the National Guard; Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Foreign Minister; Eng. Ali al-Naimi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; Eng. Mohammed Al-Madhi, Vice President of the SABIC's Board of Directors, who is also the company's Executive President, and Yahya Al-Zaid, the Saudi ambassador to China. The meeting was also attended by members of the official accompanying delegation of the Chinese Prime Minister.
