U.S. President Barack Obama and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed in a telephonic conversation the latest developments in the Middle East and North Africa. The White House said in a statement today that Obama and Erdogan discussed Iranian nuclear program, stressing the necessity for Iran's commitment with the international community in this regard. They condemned actions of the Syrian regime against demonstrations and agreed on the need for the continuation of the two countries in supporting the legitimate demands of the Syrian people for democracy. On Iraq, they reiterated their continued support to a comprehensive partnership Government that will achieve stability, democracy and prosperity for the Iraqi people.
