Minister of Transport Dr. Jubarah bin Eid Al-Suraysiri today disclosed that his ministry's 1433-1434 H.'s budget includes funds to implement 284 road projects with a total length of 4154 kilometer in the amount of SR10,779,000,000. This is in addition to studying and designing roads measuring 2139 kilometers in different parts of the country, he added. In a press statement issued by the Ministry, Dr. Al-Suraysiri said roads in the length of 814 km as well as studying and designing another 759-km roads will be allotted for Riyadh Region, 432-km roads and studying and designing roads measuring 80 km for Makkah Region, roads in the length of 216 km in addition to studying and designing roads measuring 50 km will be allotted for Qassim Region, roads in the Eastern Region will total 496 km in addition to studying and designing roads measuring 175 km, roads in Assir Region will total 428 km in addition to studying and designing roads measuring 202 km, roads in Hail Region will total 213 km in addition to studying and designing roads measuring 92 km, roads in the Northern Border Region will total 194 km in addition to studying and designing roads measuring 66 km, roads in Jazan Region will total 217 km in addition to studying and designing roads measuring 212 km, roads in Najran Region will total 247 km in addition to studying and designing roads measuring 67 km, roads in Al-Baha Region will total 140 km in addition to studying and designing roads measuring 162 km, and roads in Al-Joaf Region will total 154 km in addition to studying and designing roads measuring 184 km. Dr. Al-Suraysiri added that SR15 million were appropriated for studies and designs on public transportation aiming to solve traffic jams in major cities.
