U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner will visit China and Japan next week to discuss the global economy, the Treasury Department said Wednesday. In China, Geithner will meet with Vice Premier Wang Qishan on January 10 and Premier Wen Jiabao on January 11. The following day, he will travel to Japan to meet with Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and Finance Minister Jun Azumi. The U.S. Treasury chief will discuss policies to promote global economic growth and efforts to support fair trade practices, the Treasury said.
