Brazil's energy giant Petrobas said it has found light oil and natural gas off the coast of Espirito Santo. A company statement released last night said that the discovery was made during the drilling of a well called Tambuata, which is located 74 kilometers off the coast, at a depth of 1,520 meters. “Drilling will continue to a depth of 6,100 meters in order to test deeper formations,” the statement said. “Reservoirs from the Cretaceous Period and Santonian Age were identified…at a depth between 4,530 and 4,670 meters, and in good conditions for production.”
