President Barack Obama said Saturday the eventual willingness by the U.S. Congress in December to unite and prevent year-end tax increases makes him hopeful of more economic progress in 2012. “It was good to see members of Congress do the right thing for millions of working Americans,” Obama said in his weekly radio and internet speech recorded in Hawaii, where he is vacationing with his family. Obama said he expects Congress to complete the job when lawmakers return to Washington in January and extend the payroll tax cuts through the end of the year.
