Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Turki will leave tomorrow for Jakarta at the head of the League's delegation to organize the 2nd World Conference of Islamic Media, which will be patronized by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The MWL will convene the conference under the title "The Impact of New Media and Telecommunications Technology on the Muslim World: Opportunities and Challenges," during the period from 18 to 20/1/1433 AH in cooperation with the Indonesian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. Dr. Al-Turki said that the Islamic media is still in need for greater coordination and that the conference seeks to achieve several objectives including the explanation of the universality of Islam. The MWL's Secretary General thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for their support for the MWL and Muslims.
