Serbia and Kosovo failed to make progress in marathon talks in Brussels early Friday, Belgrade's chief negotiator, Borislav Stefanovic, said, according to dpa. The talks, facilitated by the European Union, are intended to resolve issues stemming from Kosovo's secession from Serbia nearly four years ago. The talks on Wednesday and whole day Thursday focused on tensions over the disputed border crossings and on Serbia's veto on Kosovo's participation in regional initiatives. No date for a new round has been set, Stefanovic said. The EU has set progress in the talks and improved relations as a crucial condition to formally recognize Serbia as a candidate for membership in the bloc.
