Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has confirmed that its development policies are based on supporting, promoting and developing the private sector's role as one of the main pillars with its leading role in the contribution to the comprehensive development process the Kingdom witnessed and still witness, through the further development of the necessary infrastructure for this sector. This came in a speech delivered by the Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah bin Ahmed Zainal Lairize at the 14th session of the General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development (UNIDO) held at its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Minister of Commerce and Industry leads the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the 14th session of UNIDO's General Conference which will conclude its activities on Friday. The Minister Abdullah Alireza also said in his speech that "As a result of the Kingdom's accession to WTO membership, we hope to achieve a number of economic benefits from this accession with the most important is the facilitation of the entry of the Saudi exports to world markets and the increase of domestic investment.", stressing that Saudi Arabia will not apply any protectionism measures to its industries, and will not do any business practices harmful to global markets in its dealings.
