AlHijjah 29, 1432, Nov 25, 2011, SPA -- Four Europeans have been kidnapped in the Malian town of Timbuktu, a day after two French citizens were abducted from their hotel in Hombori, as dpa reported. According to local radio broadcast, one of those kidnapped was killed. Their nationalities are not yet known. The French geologists taken from Hombori Thursday have been identified as Slobodan Lazarevic and Philippe Verdon. The two men were assessing a site on behalf of a Malian company, Mande Construction. Armed men barged into their hotel rooms in the early hours of Thursday morning.
