Olympic weightlifting champion Liao Hui banned for doping offence

AlHijjah 22, 1432, Nov 18, 2011, SPA -- Olympic weightlifting champion Liao Hui of China
has been suspended for a doping offence until 2014, state news agency
Xinhua reported on Friday, according to dpa.
Xinhua said that Liao failed a doping test after the 2010 world
championships and was banned for four years by the ruling body IWF.
He was stripped of the 2010 world title and will miss the London 2012
Olympics.
Liao won the 69kg category gold medal at the 2008 Olympics in
Beijing and was world champion in 2009. Neither Xinhua nor the IWF
said what forbidden substance Liao used.
He is one of 10 lifters listed by the IWF as suspended, among them
three athletes from Thailand and two from Armenia, all until 2015.
