Jim Flaherty said Monday he discussed the issue with Chinese officials in Beijing and at a meeting of Asia-Pacific finance ministers this month, according to a report of the Associated Press. Flaherty said other governments want to see Europe make a "very substantial commitment" to prevent financial contagion from spreading before any more is asked of non-European countries.
