AlHijjah 17, 1432, Nov 13, 2011, SPA -- Rescue workers on Sunday ended their search for survivors of an earthquake in eastern Turkey, while the number of bodies pulled from the rubble of collapsed buildings climbed to 39, dpa quoted local media as saying. A 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit the city of Van late Wednesday, destroying 25 buildings. Of those, 23 had stood empty since the October 23 quake in which more than 600 people were killed. But two were hotels where many media workers had been staying to cover the aftermath of the first quake. Rescue workers managed to save 30 people from the wreckage of the Aslan and Bayram hotels, where the majority of the people were trapped. But on Sunday they said they had ended their search at the Bayram. They ended their search at the Aslan on Friday.
