The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 7.89, or 0.6 percent, to 1,261.12. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 9.10, or 0.3 percent, to 2,695.25. Shares of daily deals site Groupon fell after closing more than 30 percent above its initial public offering (IPO) price Friday. Shares of DISH Network jumped after the satellite-television provider announced a one-time dividend payment. There were no U.S. economic reports released Monday. The U.S. dollar rose versus the euro and fell versus the yen. Light sweet crude oil for December delivery rose $1.26 to $95.52 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold futures rose $35 to $1,791.10 an ounce.
