According to CBS TV, there were more than a half-million households impacted, most of which were in Pennsylvania. Just in Philadelphia, 160,000 customers are without electricity. Connecticut, New York and Maryland are also reporting electricity outages. Winter storm warnings are in effect for 12 states. According to the National Weather Service, the snowstorm is expected to cover a wide swath of the Northeast until Sunday. New York City on Saturday afternoon saw around three centimeters of snow - the largest October snowfall since 1869. Cities such as Allentown, Pennsylvania and Worcester, Massachusetts are recording more than 30 centimeters of snow, according to The Weather Channel.
