AlQa'dah 25, 1432, Oct 23, 2011, SPA - The euro states are nearing a solution to the debt crisis ahead of a high-profile summit Sunday, French President Nicolas Sarkozy said. "There have been advances," Sarkozy said late Saturday in Brussels on the sidelines of a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and top European Union officials. On Sunday, they are due to meet for the latest in a marathon series of summits among EU leaders designed to shore up the euro. "A solution must be found by Wednesday," Sarkozy said, looking ahead to another midweek meeting in Brussels. "The financial crisis must be solved." Merkel and Sarkozy are to be joined Sunday by EU President Herman Van Rompuy, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, European Central Bank Jean-Claude Trichet, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde, EU Economy Commissioner Olli Rehn, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA".
