Qaadah 1428AH., he headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to OPEC 3rd Summit in Riyadh.
Since the era of his father the Late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, the Crown Prince has assumed the following posts:
- The Governor of Riyadh on Rabie Al-Akher 1, 1366 AH corresponding to February 22, 1947 AD.
- The Minister of Agriculture on Rabie Al-Akher 18, 1373AH corresponding to December 24, 1953 AD.
- The Minister of Transport on Rabie Al-Awwal 20, 1375AH corresponding to November 5, 1955 AD.
- The Minister of Defense and Aviation on Jumada Al-Akher 3, 1382 AH, corresponding to October 21, 1962 AD.
- The Second Deputy Premier on Shaaban 21, 1402AH corresponding to June 13, 1982AD, in addition to his responsibilities as Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General.
