Military chief Gen. Alejandro Navas blames the deaths on "tactical errors." He spoke in a radio interview and offered no details. Officials say the attack by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia occurred at midnight Thursday near the Pacific city of Tumaco. The soldiers were patrolling near an African palm plantation.
