Oman Votes For Advisory Council

AlQa'dah 17, 1432, Oct 15, 2011, SPA - Voters in Oman began today casting ballots for Majlis Al-Shura (Advisory Council) instituted by Sultan Qaboos in the 1990s.
The official Oman News Agency (ONA) says more than 1,300 candidates are seeking seats on the 84-member Shura Council.
"A large number of voters are expected to show up to vote," said Omani Interior Minister Saud bin Ibrahim al-Busaidi.
